Phi is Chris' Vietnamese name! It's also his legal middle name and what most of his family calls him, whereas most of his friends call him Chris (short for Christian).

Joyce and Chris took a trip to Banff National Park in August of 2024 for their 5th anniversary. Joyce loves scrapbooking (when she has time to get around to it), so Chris made Joyce a scrapbook filled with memories from their past 5 years, which they flipped through together on a scenic walk from the Lake Louise parking lot to the 'designated proposal spot' in front of Lake Louise. On the very last page of the scrapbook, Chris had a polaroid with the words 'Will you marry me?" on it.

That's the spot where Chris was directed to go by the secret photographer he had hired! Unfortunately, the photographer was running late and Chris wasn't checking his phone, so shortly after the proposal, Chris and Joyce set off to find their photographer. While all of the professional pictures of the proposal were obviously staged, there was one sneaky lady just passing by who did manage to snap a shot of the 'real' proposal!
